Thanks for reply
i know i should not use smarty but current project on which i am working needs smarty and i have no authority to change that so i am stuck with it. i learnt it just for this project and now i will never use it again.

i have already tried that plugin but that plugin does not work with eclipse 3.5.

some people recommend it but i do not like it. what is the point learning one more language/syntax just for presentation purpose?

HTML+CSS+JS - front end
PHP - backend

why we need smarty?i will never understand it.
but i have to use it and without code assist and syntax highlighting it is extremely difficult to use it.

thanks

Regarding the pro question, we made Aptana Studio 1.5.1 completely free: http://blog.aptana.org/2009/9/1/sftp-no ... ana-studio.

Syntax coloring is a joke in PDT compared to Aptana PHP plugin.
So transition to PDT is a no-no . I hope Aptana PHP plugin will stay online , even is discontinued.

In the next release it will be on par with semantic highlighting.

Oh shoot! Please don't do it! PHP Plugin was by far the best ide I ever used. I really liked the fast setup! just install and it works! and the multibrowser test tab at the bottom of php docs and it was fast. PDT is nothing compared to PHP Plugin :(
At least could you put a link to download the source code so we can maintain it ourselves? :(

Thanks
