RadRails 1.2.1 Released

Postby cwilliams » Thu Mar 26, 2009 4:18 pm

RadRails 1.2.1 has been released to stable. Users who are on 1.1.2 and/or 1.2.0 are recommended to upgrade. Aptana should prompt you to automatically upgrade. To manually install (for users of older releases, or those experiencing problems) the update site is: http://update.aptana.com/update/rails/3.2/

The changelog for this release is at: http://support.aptana.com/asap/browse/ROR/fixforversion/10082

This is a bugfix and new feature release. Highlights include:
    Rails on the Cloud support
Bugfix for ERB editor broken on 1.2.0
Improved initial install experience on Windows (wizard to guide users to install and set up standard ruby).
Targets Eclipse 3.4 (so some advanced debugging features are enabled for Eclipse 3.3+ now, rather than 3.2/Studio standalone)

If I read the previous discussions and feature requests for GIT correctly, support for GIT was just waiting for Eclipse 3.4 support, so does that mean we can start using GIT now? If so, I didn't see how to get to it. (I have the standalone version, and it looks like the version is 1.2.5.023247)

Git is a 3rd party plugin that requires Eclipse 3.4. RadRails 1.2.1 is now built to target 3.4. But, you'll need to wait for our Studio standalone that's 3.4 based if you want to use it with Studio standalone. The workaround is to install Studio into an eclipse 3.4 install, then install RadRails and Git.

I'm aware that you guys want to use it badly, and I apologize for the delays. I'm working to get a version of Studio standalone/plugins that are 3.4+ based out there.
